Who are YOU living for?

This post was inspired by part of a dream I had months ago. In the dream I was driving to a building that was supposed to be important and I know this place was meant to hold an excess amount of things in case of an emergency (I felt it was supposed to hold food). When I got to this place, however, there was no food. All I saw was this glass showcase and inside there were a few diamond encrusted jewels. I looked at the objects in the case and I was questioning who that stuff was supposed to help. The short story I took from that dream was that man likes to stock up on riches (they pride themselves on it), but not on what truly matters. They are not really concerned with the lives of others. Now, I know not everyone is like this or misuse their riches, but not nearly enough people use their riches for good. This brings me into the topic of unity. It is not a coincidence that (almost) everything in this world runs like a well-oiled machine. Everything is meant to benefit and serve the purpose of something else. For example, trees provide us with oxygen. Not only that, but they also help stabilize the soil and prevent soil erosion, they store carbon (impure carbon in the form of charcoal is used in metal smelting, while activated charcoal is used for purification and filtration), trees provide life to the wildlife, they provide us with tools and materials needed for shelter, they provide us with food, and so much more. It is truly incredible how precise and intricate Yahweh created everything. This leads me to my "almost everything" comment. The only thing that seems to not be working in such unity are humans themselves. How do we fit into this equation of symbiosis? How do we benefit each other? We are supposed to (or at least we SHOULD be) running as smoothly as the rest of Yah's creation, yet we do not. Why is that? Part of the reason is because we are selfish instead of selfless. We were not put on this earth to serve only ourselves, we were put here to serve others (which in turn serves Yah). We are supposed to be dwelling together in unity, we are supposed to be of the same mind, working in the same Spirit, being there for each other, forgiving and loving one another. We are bound to disagree with one another, but we should not disagree when it comes to Yeshua and His word. Yeshua's life is the perfect example to model our lives after.

Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 25:27

"It is not good to eat much honey. Is it esteem to seek one's own esteem?"

Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 10:24

"Let no one seek his own, but each one that of the other."

Iyoḇ (Job) 26:2-4

"How have you helped the powerless, saved an arm not strong? How have you given counsel to the unwise or declared sound advice to many? With whom have you spoken words? And whose spirit came from you?

Pilipiyim (Philippians) 2:1-4

"If, then, there is any encouragement in Messiah, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love, one in being and of purpose, doing none at all through selfishness or self-conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each one should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others."

Marqos (Mark) 10:24-25

"And the taught ones were astonished at His words. And יהושע responding, said to them again, 'Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into the reign of Elohim!

It is easier for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the reign of Elohim.'”
